The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints presents nativities taken from the Raines collection and those shared by residents of the Kentlands. This Kentlands church is a one-of-one meetinghouse within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was built to match the unique style of the community in which it resides. This year, in addition to nativity displays, the Kentlands Christmas program includes a collection of 31 reprinted paintings depicting the birth of Jesus Christ. Mounted in the building's cultural hall, retired Broadway actress, Sandra Turley, narrates the story of Christ's birth through a reading of Luke 2, while lighting and music draw the audience's attention to the paintings that provide color to each verse of the story. OLVP parishioners are invited to view the magnificent nativity scenes and paintings from 6-9 pm Dec 8-14th and 17th.
